Do I need maintenance?
Maintenance is like an oil change on your car. To maximize the units efficiency, savings and lifespan you need to ensure that your heat pump is well maintained by an experienced contractor.
How often should it be maintained?
Most manufacturers require at least once a year. Quarterly filter changes and tune ups are also worthwhile for those looking to maintain peak operation.

Check it every month during peak use, and replace it when it looks dirty enough that air flow is restricted. Media filters or electronic air cleaners are washable, some pleated filters may be vacuumed once or twice – others are disposable and must be replaced.
